One of my earliest sessions for a bonafide label was for Authority Records, a dance imprint out of NJ run by Aaron Dean. I was called in to add guitar tracks to a remix producer Alex J was working that Diva Tiki Jones had sang on. With nothing more than a Lovetone Meatball and my ’73 Strat the job was done and the track made it onto the Billboard Dance charts for nearly two months topping off at #40. How I don’t know considering those out-of-tune vocals – ha! Maybe I saved the day with my faux-Nile Rodgers riffage. Who knows? Anyway, check out the outro cadenza at 5:53 where I had a chance to stretch out and Alex J could do some filtering of his own.
