Funk You Up (Chris Buono & Alan Evans Remix)

Richard Abbuhl is an American-turned-Dutch artist living in The Netherlands. He’s also my first online private student along with Steve Pedulla of Thursday when I started teaching on Skype in 2006! I’ve proudly watched Richard evolve over the years making it all the way to producing his own original music.

After he recorded the original version of ‘Funk You Up’ Richard set off on a remix project. While it was perplexing to me, I didn’t hesitate to take a crack at my own version. Armed with my ’73 L6-S and an amp you’ll never find anywhere I recorded multiple tracks with various pedals including a Lovetone Meatball, an EHX Mel9 and a GFI System Specular Tempus. Icing on the cake was having Alan Evans from Soulive play drums on it. Score!
